Dental services in the British Army, 1914-18

At the outbreak of the First World War there was insufficient dental provision for serving military personnel. However, the pain of toothache and the inability to chew food was debilitating and demoralising for the British soldier. This talk will explore the state of the nation’s teeth and the treatments available at the time.
